The family winery producing ports and Douro DOC wines is conveniently located a 15-20 minute walk or a short taxi ride from Pinhão.
Quinta de la Rosa is a family-owned estate in the heart of the Douro Valley, with roots going back to 1906 when it was acquired by the Feuerheerd family. A few years later, it was gifted to Claire Feuerheerd as a wedding present, and it has remained in the same family ever since.
Now run by the Bergqvist family, descendants of Claire, the estate combines long tradition with a modern approach to winemaking. While their family history in Port dates back to the 18th century, Quinta de la Rosa began bottling its own wines relatively recently – launching its first Ports in 1988 and Douro wines shortly after.
Today, it is known as one of the Douro’s leading estates, offering both high-quality wines and an authentic, welcoming experience overlooking the Douro River.
Quinta de la Rosa is open every day for tours and tastings.
The estate features two restaurants with excellent views, a gastronomic Cozinha da Clara and a relaxed Tim’s Terrace, as well as a cozy boutique hotel.

in the last weekOur stay at Quinta de la Rosa was terrific from start to finish. The views of the river and hills are spectacular, the food and wine was excellent (as was their beer - check out the IPA), and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The pool was a refreshing break after a day exploring. The highlight was the Vale do Inferno vineyard tour. We walked the vineyard, toured the winemaking facilities, including the lagares where grapes are still stomped by foot, and finished with an excellent tasting in the port cellar, a remarkable setting. Our guide, Marta, made the tour special. She was warm and welcoming, with deep knowledge of every stage of growing and winemaking, the history of the quinta, and the Douro region.Stay here, book the tour, and ask for Marta. We'd love to return.
