The historic estate is across the Douro river from Pinhão offers a unique experience – ride in the vineyard to the top of the hill. Experience the best views and learn about the ecosystem of Douro vineyard, then enjoy a tasting of various wines in a cozy tasting room.
Vineyard Guided Tour at Quinta das Carvalhas. Have the opportunity to explore the property, see both sides of the mountain, making several stops, including the hilltop (450m altitude). Get in touch with nature, our vineyards, and our workers. See some of the most spectacular views and have the opportunity to appreciate and photograph them, followed by a presentation by knowledgeable guides. It includes a tasting of 3 wines at the end (1 Douro DOC red, 1 Douro DOC white, 1 Port) accompanied by a board of cheeses and smoked meats. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
While the vineyard tour has to be booked, it is possible to drop in for a tasting. Real Companhia Velha is producing a variety of Douro DOC and Port wines for every taste.
Quinta das Carvalhas is open for visits every day, except the 24th and the 25th of December and the 1st and the 2nd of January. Opening hours: 10:00 am to 7 pm with a lunch break between 1 and 2 pm. In the autumn and winter, the estate closes as 6 pm.
