Bomfim 1896 is located at Quinta do Bomfim in Pinhão and is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.
Now led by chef Pedro Lencastre Monteiro, the restaurant is focused on authentic and regional concept. The cuisine showcases the flavours of the Douro and northern Portugal, with an emphasis on local products and wood-fire cooking.
Set within one of the most iconic estates in the Douro Valley, Bomfim 1896 offers a relaxed yet refined dining experience, combining traditional dishes with a contemporary touch.
The wine list is extensive, with around 300 labels, showcasing both Symington wines and a carefully selected range of Portuguese and international producers.
With panoramic views over the Douro River and the Pinhão bridge, the setting is one of the restaurant’s key highlights, making it an ideal stop to combine food, wine and landscape in a single visit.

in the last weekWe were so well attended by multiple staff. The food experience was over the top (seafood, black angus, traditional stew and incredible pear dessert). Highly recommend this 5 star establishment.
